Since 1995, the Roskilde Airshow Association has been committed to promoting sustainable, top-tier airshows with engaging ground activities. The Roskilde Airshow will continue as a bi-annual event, prioritizing safety and sustainability while delivering exceptional entertainment, excellent value, and a unique experience for all visitors and stakeholders. The event showcases the best of international military and civilian aviation, highlighting skills, technology, and innovation in aviation.
Our commitment to social responsibility
We collaborate with voluntary organizations such as the Veterans' Association, which supports veterans with physical and mental injuries from their service.
Our Commitment to Sustainability
We employ various strategies to achieve our sustainability goals and reduce our carbon footprint. Like many airshow organizations, we are committed to environmental preservation and integrate actions to mitigate adverse environmental impacts into our core operations.
While we acknowledge that military aircraft performances and fuel usage contribute to greenhouse gas emissions, all military participants have their own comprehensive climate action plans to account for their emissions. As these are beyond our control, they are not included in our action items.
Environmental Impact and Responsibility
Roskilde Airshow recognizes that its operations impact the environment in several ways. We strive to minimize negative social, environmental, and economic impacts while maintaining the high quality of the airshow and associated ground activities.
Our Commitments
Key Sustainability Objectives
Continuous Improvement
We take pride in our proactive approach to sustainability and will continue to take actions to offset the carbon footprint of our bi-annual event. This policy will be reviewed continuously and specifically examined bi-annually, one year before the event.
“Through our participation, we can both raise funds for the work with our physically and psychologically vulnerable veterans and raise awareness of the challenges a hard working life can bring in later life. It is therefore absolutely essential for our work that we get the opportunity to get out and show people who we are and what we do. That is why I am incredibly happy that organizations like RAS have again invited us and we look forward to participating.”
CPH Airports is collaborating with Roskilde Airshow in connection with their Airshow to find areas where we can help reduce environmental impact. This can include efficient waste sorting, minimizing food waste, sharing knowledge about sustainability initiatives and much more. Julie Bock Head of Sustainable Development Copenhagen Airports A/S

Copenhagen Helicopter has been working for the past 10 years with electric aviation, which, starting at the end of this decade, can accommodate up to 9 passengers, who can either take off/land vertically like a helicopter called eVTOL, as well as conventional but electrified aircraft that only require a short runway called eSTOL and eCTOL.
The ongoing work is to investigate whether and how to introduce AAM in Denmark. AAM stands for Advanced Air Mobility. AAM can be understood as:
"An air transport system that moves people and goods between places previously not served or underserved by aviation – local, regional, intraregional, urban – using revolutionary new aircraft that are only now becoming possible".
In the Danish context, Copenhagen Helicopter sees benefits and opportunities in the subcategory RAM (Regional Air Mobility), i.e. from city-to-city as well as to/from remote areas, islands, etc., as well as across national borders and especially where geo- and topographical conditions can significantly shorten the total travel time via air compared to land-based modes of transport.
RAM will help create better transport conditions across the country, open up better opportunities, for example, to settle further away from one's work or locate companies in peripheral areas without necessarily increasing travel time. This helps, among other things, to increase people's work/life balance and help reduce the depopulation of peripheral areas and islands.
Over time, as batteries, among other things, fall further in price, the price of a ticket is expected to fall to the level of, for example, the cost price of the train and be cheaper than a car. That is, over time, the mix of customer groups on several AAM routes is expected to be fairly distributed between business, commuters and leisure travelers.
AAM is not a replacement for other forms of transport but a supplement to public transport for a better connected country.
With the EU initiative MaaS (Mobility as a Service), AAM must be part of public transport, so that the traveler with his chosen MaaS travel client (typically an app) can book his personalized trip across all forms of travel that have scheduled traffic with just one ticket and one payment. This means that AAM is not isolated in terms of ticketing as traditional aviation is today.
Since the summer of 2023, Copenhagen Helicopter has been a partner together with other selected partners at UAS Denmark in the EU and nationally supported 3-year NGR 2.0 project, where the purpose is to investigate, articulate, assess and finally recommend whether and how AAM can play a role in the Danish context.
In this connection, Copenhagen Helicopter will be at the Roskilde Airshow with a stand together with UAS Denmark that articulates AAM, what is the status of, among other things, electric aircraft, how can the individual traveler benefit from AAM, etc.
Everyone is welcome to stop by.
